Scholar Spotlight: Student Leader to Financial Tech Exec

For Felicia Jackson, college wasn’t a question of if. It was a matter of how. “There wasn’t funding for me to go to college … but I knew I was going.”

Determined to make it happen, she applied for every scholarship she could find. One of them stood out among the rest: a Heritage Classic Foundation Scholarship. “This scholarship put me through school, helped me grow and gave me leadership skills I utilize today."

At Newberry College, Felicia studied business administration, served as class president, and raised her son, all while protecting the scholarship that made it possible. “My son was my world, and I knew I owed it to him to do whatever was necessary to keep that scholarship.”

Today, she’s a Business Development Director at Thunes, helping move money securely across borders for companies like PayPal, Uber and Revolut. Felicia has made it her mission to give back to the community where it all started.

Now, Felicia gives back through the Tartan Club to help open doors for the next generation of bold, resilient scholars.
