HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 — The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to hosting a world-class PGA TOUR event, has announced its charitable giving totals for 2025. The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing raises funds for educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life in South Carolina.
Thanks to a successful RBC Heritage, a record-breaking $4.422 million was raised and distributed into six charitable giving pillars. These 2025 distributions increase the total amount of charitable giving by the Heritage Classic Foundation to $61.8 million since it was created in 1987.

RBC Heritage beneficiary to receive $30,000 grant
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA – The PGA TOUR announced today that the Hilton Head Island Deep Well Project, a non-profit beneficiary of the RBC Heritage, has been named the 2025 PGA TOUR Charity of the Year. The organization was recently surprised with the honor during an event staff outing to repair the home of a local resident.
While the Deep Well Project was initially founded in 1973 to provide clean, safe drinking water on Hilton Head Island, it has since been the source of emergency assistance to the local community. Its primary focal point is housing for a workforce that is integral to the dynamic hospitality-oriented business economy of the Island.

The Heritage Classic Foundation will name eleven new Scholars from the 2026 graduating class. Each Scholar will have an opportunity to receive a 4-year grant totaling up to $16,000 or $20,000, with one student receiving a one-year $4,000 grant.
RBC extends title sponsorship of RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open
RBC to continue sponsorship of PGA TOUR Signature Event and golf’s third-oldest national championship in multi-year agreement.
Boeing previously signed a contract extension and will continue to be the RBC Heritage's presenting sponsor.
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida and TORONTO, Canada – The PGA TOUR and RBC, in partnership with the Heritage Classic Foundation and Golf Canada, today announced a multi-year extension of the bank’s title sponsorship of the RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open. RBC is a long-standing supporter of golf at the professional and amateur levels and has been the title sponsor of the RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open since 2012 and 2008, respectively.
The 2026 RBC Heritage, a PGA TOUR Signature Event, begins Thursday, April 16 at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The 2026 RBC Canadian Open, Canada’s National Open, will return to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario, on Thursday, June 11.

STUDY SHOWS RBC HERITAGE’S YEARLY ECONOMIC IMPACT IS $134.9 MILLION
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (AUGUST 22, 2024) — A recent study shows the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing continues to produce an impressive economic impact for South Carolina. According to the survey conducted by Clemson University’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, the PGA TOUR golf tournament had a total economic impact of $134.9 million during tournament week, April 15-21, 2024. After adjusting for inflation, that is an 11% increase over the last survey conducted in 2019.

HERITAGE CLASSIC FOUNDATION HIRES NEW VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (November 10, 2023) - The Heritage Classic Foundation is pleased to welcome Sarah Sofia to the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing team. Sarah will be taking over the role of Office Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
Sarah worked for the Heritage Classic Foundation from January to April 2023 as an intern responsible for volunteer support. Since that time, she was employed by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association as a tournament coordinator. She had previously interned at Augusta National, Quail Hollow and Hendrick Motorsports. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the University of South Carolina, graduating in May of 2023.

The 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and host to South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR golf tournament is proud to announce due to the success of the 2022 RBC Heritage, the board of trustees is increasing the percentage of matching dollars contributed to the Birdies for Charity and Heritage Champions Fore Charity programs from 15% to 20% in 2023.
The announcement was made by the new charity committee chairman Cary Corbitt. Corbitt was elected after former chairman Stan Smith retired from the Heritage Classic Foundation board. “The 2022 RBC Heritage surpassed all expectations and we want to pass that success on to our registered charity partners,” said Corbitt. “Unfortunately, rising costs are impacting everyone, including the charities the Heritage Classic Foundation supports. We hope the extra 5% match will make a difference.”

State Officials and Leaders Celebrate Golf’s $3.3B Impact on South Carolina

Columbia, S.C. – Gathering at the Governor’s Mansion, leaders from the Palmetto State’s robust golf industry were recognized by Governor Henry McMaster and other state officials for the positive impact golf has on South Carolina’s economy and quality of life.
The celebration comes just days before another PGA tournament tees off in the state, with THE CJ CUP in South Carolina heading to the Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland October 17-23.

The scholars received their awards by mail and met Heritage Classic Foundation Scholar Committee Chairman, Scott Richardson and other committee members during a video conference. “This is always an exciting day for the Heritage Classic Foundation, even if we are just meeting virtually,” Richardson told the scholars. “Choosing the eleven students to receive these awards was a hard task. We believe your accomplishments should be rewarded and your teachers and administrators deserve special praise.”

FUNDS RAISED FROM PLAID PLEDGE CAMPAIGN ARE DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – November 16, 2020 — The Heritage Classic Foundation recently distributed PLAID PLEDGE donations to food banks throughout South Carolina. The PLAID PLEDGE was a campaign that encouraged donors to make a contribution to those impacted by COVID-19. A total of $40,000 was divided between the South Carolina Hospital Association Foundation and Heritage Classic Foundation registered charities impacted by the pandemic.

Hilton Head Island, March 21, 2020 - The matching funds provided by the Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, are generated by the proceeds of operating the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR golf tournament. Since it was founded as a 501 (c)(3) in 1987, the Foundation has donated $44.6 million to people in need.
Due to the escalation of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the PGA TOUR has agreed to follow the recommendation of the US Centers for Disease Control to cancel events on the PGA TOUR scheduled through the AT&T Byron Nelson ending May 10. The cancellations include the 2020 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, which was scheduled for April 13-19 at Harbour Town Golf Links.
PLAID ABOUT READING PROGRAM CELEBRATES 10 YEARS
Now in its tenth year, the Heritage Classic Foundation’s annual Plaid About Reading program is proud to announce there are a record number of entries since the program’s inception. Twenty-two elementary schools from Hilton Head Island to Charleston are participating in the Plaid About Reading Program Monday, February 10 through Friday, February 21 for a chance to win tickets, money for their school and meet PGA TOUR professional golfers.

Second Helpings named 2018 PGA TOUR Charity of the Year - RBC Heritage beneficiary to receive $30,000
(December 7, 2018) The PGA TOUR announced today that Second Helpings, a Hilton Head Island-based non-profit beneficiary of the RBC Heritage, has been named the 2018 PGA TOUR Charity of the Year. With a mission of alleviating hunger by excelling in the ongoing development and management of a distribution channel between food donors and charitable food providers, Second Helpings is doing its part to help end hunger in South Carolina. Specifically, Second Helpings rescues food that would be discarded by grocery or other stores and distributes it to agencies and churches, who in return serve the needy and challenged in the South Carolina Lowcountry area. Since its formation in 1992, Second Helpings has distributed over 30 million pounds of food to the needy.
THE HERITAGE CLASSIC FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH THE SC TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM TO EXPAND MECHATRONIC TECHNICIAN TRAINING WITH $100,000 GRANT
(December 2, 2018) —The Heritage Classic Foundation is partnering with the SC Technical College System to invest $100,000 in a grant to expand training opportunities for skilled mechatronic workers across the state. The grant will be used to support Siemens Mechatronic System Certification Programs for faculty at South Carolina’s 16 technical colleges.
This certification will allow for training and preparing much-needed, skilled maintenance technicians for South Carolina’s growing manufacturing sector.As manufacturing equipment becomes more automated and technologically advanced, demand increases for highly-trained and highly-skilled mechatronic technicians.
